Be a Pioneer in the Hispanic Internet Marketing World
Don’t Let Others Beat You To It
Dear Internet Marketer,
Imagine someone hands you the following message:
"Voy a compartir contigo el motivo por el cual los sitios web que traducen sus páginas con traductores gratis no logran hacer ventas en otros idiomas. Es bastante obvio, pero mucha gente no piensa en ello. Esta información te va a dar una gran ventaja sobre tu competencia pero sólo te lo digo si me prometes mantenerlo en secreto. ¿Sale?"
You wouldn't be too interested in it, would you? It would look strange. Confusing. You might assume it's from another language, but unless you knew Spanish, you would only be guessing to the language and the message.
What would you do?
Obviously, you would need to translate the message.
How? In this case, you might just go online at a great website for translating languages, enter the above text, and quickly discover that those words in Spanish actually mean...
“I am going to share with you the motive by which the websites that translate their pages with translators free fail to do sales in other languages. Is quite obvious, but many people does not think about it. This information is going to give you a great advantage on your competence but only I tell it you if you promise me to maintain it in secret. Leaves?”
Now, how does this sound? Better? Yes, you can understand it, but the real question is… Would you buy a product from a site that sounds so unprofessional? From a site that does not bother to reach out towards its customers?
I don’t think so.
And neither would a Hispanic arriving at your English site.
The actual meaning, by the way, is:
"I am about to tell you the reason why websites, which translate their pages using a free translation service will never make any sales in another language. It’s quite obvious, but many people don’t think about it. This information is going to give you a great advantage over your competition but I will only tell you if you promise to keep the secret. Agreed?"
Ah! Now it all makes sense! Now you know what the words mean and you are free to enjoy them, act on them, or just dismiss them. But at least now you've gotten the communication. Relax. Breathe. Smile. Ahhhhhh...
There are several points I wanted to make:
- If the message is not clear, the customer won’t buy; and for your Hispanic audience, that means reading the message in Spanish.
- The Internet is a global medium, so why limit your self.
- Your Spanish site can be as profitable as your English site, if done right.
- There are 60.68 million potential customers waiting for you to reach out (as of October, 2004).
- But whatever you do, please, don't make the mistake of using machine translation; it will hurt your reputation, your business and everything in it.
Translate your site and get 60.68 million additional customers
Yes, you heard right. There are 60.68 Hispanics surfing the net and more are coming on board every day.
How is that for profitable?
And, like everybody else, Hispanics like to be addressed in their language: Spanish. Just as you like to be addressed in English. And, guess what? Not many Internet marketers are profiting from this… not yet, anyway.
You can be a true pioneer, crossing bridges or even oceans and entering a whole new world full of people hungry for your exciting product or service.
Remember how you felt while reading the Spanish text? Would you act on those words, even if you did not understand them? The obvious answer is, no. The same happens right now to many Hispanics who arrive at your site. They say, no, no. And gone is your sale. Or worse, they don't even arrive at your site at all.
Give Hispanics the opportunity to profit from the net. Show them what you know, provide them with the tools you have, make their day and let them make yours. Ca$hing!
Turn that NO into a YES.
Say again? You want proof?
FACTS: Here is the number of Hispanics online…
- Hispanics in the US: 15 million (more than any other country)
- Mexico: 13.8 million
- Spain: 13.44 million
- Chile: 5.04 million
- Argentina: 4.65 million
- Peru: 4.57 million
- Venezuela: 2.31 million
- Colombia: 1.87 million

Make your numbers… it adds up.
The opportunity is there. And it is real.
Software companies like Microsoft, Quark and Corel know it. Book authors such as Robert Kiyosaki (Rich Dad, Poor Dad), Mark Victor Hansen (Chicken Soup for the Soul) and Spencer Johnson (Who took my cheese) and many more know it.
So why is it that so few Internet Marketers have their sites professionally translated to Spanish? What makes YOU hesitate?
What are your objections? Let me address a few of them.
1. I don’t have employees who can handle customer service in Spanish.
There are always 2 options:
- Hire some.
- Get a Virtual Assistant.
- Get a Corporate Account with us and we will handle it for you.
A few years ago, I would have advised against translating your site to Spanish if you had no bilingual employees.
BUT…
If you setup a Corporate Account with us, we can help you handle all questions from potential customers in a whiff.
The account is FREE during the first month.
Later, a subscription fee will apply, which will depend entirely on the amount of emails you receive.
2. I don’t know if my product/service would sell in Spanish.
Make use of our FREE Viability Assessment. We will help you determine if your product or service is viable for the Hispanic market.
Basically, if you offer a service such as copywriting, for example, then don’t bother going Spanish. You would need to raise your prices too much in order to have your service rendered in Spanish.
Software, ebooks, ezines, manuals, “how to” books, audios, videos and many services such as web hosting, autoresponders, and others can be delivered in Spanish, although some might require more effort.
3. Maybe it’s not for me.
This is not for you, in the following instances:
- If you are an affiliate or referrer selling other people products: You must own the product/service in order to have it translated. We don’t support piracy.
- If your product isn’t selling in English: Just changing languages will not change your income.
- You are not a serious-minded Internet Marketer.
